Model: Erin Mahoney
Welcome to 2018 and a renewed commitment to making art. Early last year I stopped making images for a while, so I had time to create videos for Palette-Swap Ninja’s Princess Leia’s Stolen Death Star Plans. I loved doing it because the project and the creators are close to my heart. It was fun to go back to video editing, which was one of my college majors, but I haven’t done in years. And it was my first time using Adobe premiere which gave it a big learning curve. If you haven’t seen the videos, you can find them here: bit.ly/starwarsbeatles. After I finished them, I was a feeling creatively burned out, so I took a break. I never guessed how hard it would be to get off that break. I would talk about doing a shoot, did a couple of small shoots, but really never got back in the swing of things.
Erin, who is a ironically a wonderful costume designer, contacted me about making an image similar to a vintage photo trick of a girl in a glass. I loved the idea, and after a good deal of schedule juggling, we were able to shoot this. So here is a toast to you all, may 2018 be filled with love, luck and art!
