Calling the Mists

Model: Steph Pez

One of my favorite books, starting at the age of 12 or 13 was the Mists of Avalon by Marion Zimmer Bradley. It tells the story of King Arthur through the eyes of 3 woman in his life–Igraine, his mother, Gwenhyfar, his wife, and Morgaine, his sister. Morgaine becomes a priestess of Avalon, which is an island scared to the Druid faith that exists in a place cut apart from the world we live in. Priestesses learned to call the mists that form the doorway between the world so boats can pass to Avalon.
