This was a 'in between'shot, yet it felt so natural

A reststop on the 5
Dan and I drove to SF and back to LA this weekend, so we could spend New Years Eve with some dear friends. And while we loved every minute of the time with our friends, the drive back was in fog, which isn’t fun. But it is pretty.

Cassie in a Santa's Hat
One of our holiday traditions is making our cats pose in themed headgear. They hate it. It was Cassie’s turn. This isn’t the best shot, but the tree behind her is pretty stunning.

Looking up
This one was an incredible happy accident. I was concentrating on the pose and the light, and didn’t see her tattoo til I was looking at the shoots at home. Love it!

Study in mixing black & white and color
I realized that I am still developing my voice as a photographer. Right now I like taking the traditional head shots and beauty shots, but I really love when there is a sense of the person or a story in the shot. I am going to spend some time this coming year working on getting my portfolio to reflect that. The personality shots are the ones I love, and the head shots are what people hire me to do. Sigh.
